Privacy Policy

This policy describes the data collected during a visit, the purposes for which it is used, and the circumstances in which another service may receive it. By using the website, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates it. That provider processes the query and supplies the results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be kept long enough to respond and manage the correspondence. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, the server may collect technical details about that visit:

  • Page-view dates, times, and visit duration
  • Device type and operating system
  • Browser name and version
  • IP address assigned to the device
  • Pages viewed during the session
  • Referring site, when one is available

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on a device. They and analytics services help aggregate traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block cookies, although parts of the website may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Routing a search to the selected partner
  • Diagnosing errors and performance problems
  • Operating and improving the website
  • Understanding which pages visitors use
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests

No Criminal-Record Data on File

We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The published material explains how official Weber County records can be requested from Weber County Sheriff, the proper district or justice court, Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification, and the Utah Sex, Kidnap, and Child Abuse Offender Registry. Government disclosure is governed by the Utah Government Records Access and Management Act, while Utah Code §53-10-108 regulates BCI criminal-history dissemination. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices govern any information submitted through a tool. We do not control those practices, so review the applicable partner policy first.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Weber County offices, Utah Courts, state agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's privacy policy controls. Review it before sharing personal data.

Advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across sites for targeted advertising.

Who Might See Your Data

Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to:

  • Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
  • Search partners that process a submitted query
  • Advertising networks that place ads on the website
  • Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal demand

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If such data is identified, it can be removed.

Your Data Rights

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. In Utah, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, Utah Code Title 13, Chapter 61, may provide qualifying consumers with additional rights. At a minimum, a user may:

  • Request deletion of personal data where applicable
  • Ask to review personal data held about that user
  • Seek correction of inaccurate information where the law permits
  • Opt out of covered forms of processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised. A new version becomes available on this page with its updated effective date.
